I am new to raising african violets and have a question. The ones I have are very flat and have so many leaves that the flowers never get out from under the leaves. They blossom but I can barely see the flowers. They were on a west window sill and I moved them to a place with less light. Will the leaves eventually start reaching higher or have I ruined them? Thanks for any help.

I would put 'em in a Northern window or else, hmm, do you have anything like sheer curtains on that window? I keep mine on a Western window but behind some vertical blinds at work, and they flower just fine. Also, there's not bright light in the office either. There's a guy who grows orchids in the same window and he asked if it was supposed to get so little light, I said yes, and literally the next day they flowered.
