almond trees

Does anyone know if I can grow almond trees in central Va? I know that a lot of them are grown in California but I would love to have a couple trees of my own. I am in zone 7. What kind should I get, I know there are flowering almond that don't actually produce nuts so I don't want those.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to grow almond trees their. Your climate should be fine for growing almonds. Your going to have to get two almond trees for pollination unless their are almond trees near your area that can cross pollinate one almond tree.
Their are different varieties of almonds, some hardier than others depending what your looking for.
