Thistle, you're not alone. But then, I never order from seed catalogs. My garden is so small that I mostly buy starts. A 6-pack of kale and swiss chard is plenty. I hate to pay shipping for only 2 packs of seeds. If I do buy seeds, I'm lucky that I can go to the Baker Creek seed store in Petaluma where I buy my chicken feed.

But it is nice to see all those pictures and dream that one day I will have a big garden all started from seed.

You'll be sorry! I usually end up with three of each catalog. The big spring sale catalogs, the second chance big spring sale catalogs, and the last chance spring catalogs just before the first of the big fall sale catalogs start arriving.

More of Jung's remuda comin' into the corral. I haven't been able to get to Vermont Bean Seed yet. (You know, I don't have too much trouble remembering when VBS wasn't a part of Jungs. Well, be that as it may - I've always been reasonably happy with how Jung's does business.)

They may have gotten the message that folks want non-hybrids. All of these new OP tomato varieties! "New breeding" - which mean non-heirloom but what a mix of color exotics!

And, a new jala∙peno pepper popper pan! Pppp - could thing I wasn't trying to say that out-loud.

I just bought 'The Whole Seed Catalog from baker creek heirloom seeds' at tractor supply yesterday. I'm just getting my feet wet w/heirlooms. I'm increasingly interested in being able to self sustain. I also just got a book I ordered from amazon called "Herbal Antibiotics Natural Alternatives for treating drug-resistant bacteria'. I can see the day when getting a prescription filled may not be possible. perhaps I can learn some herbal substitutes. a friend has mrsa & this book has treatments for that. it should be interesting. I haven't cracked it yet.
