It grows along our pasture fence.

No its not a chokecherry, we have those and use them.

It looks like a nannyberry to me but I want second opinions before I feed them to my kids haha! I'm a hopeless forager....
 
Look up elderberry that's what it looks like to me. If it had tinny white blossoms it may be this. My Dad use to take the blooms and mix them in pancake batter it made really good pancakes. If it is elder berry you could make wine!!!

Sure looks like the pics of Nannyberry... I think you are right. Good to practice extreme caution, though! Hate to poison everybody!
 
They look a bit like elderberry, but, not sure. I don't think I would eat them. One taste would tell you. If they don't taste good they are for the birds.

Looks like a viburnum of some sort... some are supposed to be quite tasty.
