I think they are deciduous--they will shed their leaves, but then you have to keep watering them even though they're nothing but green sticks. Not sure what is their normal flowering time, either. My understanding was that they normally flower in October-ish and that the ones in garden centers and such are all forced in greenhouses.
That is sad. Guess that is why I opted to give Norfolk Island Pines rather than Poinsettas to the neighbors....I hate knowing this little guy is pretty much doomed. sigh....
