Anyone ever do tree surgery?

Bills, good thought--but I need that firewood for myself! We have a woodstove that supplies at least half our heat, and oil prices are going through the roof.

Pat, I think I am going to pick some at random. From the pics I can find, they all look more or less the same anyway.

Update: I can't afford the tree guy. At all. We're talking, he wants $3900 to deal with four trees. One of which he said was so close to the road and angled in such a way that it would require a police detail for several hours to re-direct traffic.

(Note to non-Bay State residents: Massachusetts has a particularly evil law that says re-directing traffic during repairs/roadside work of any sort must be done by a uniformed police officer, who will get paid obscene amounts of overtime instead of their regular time.)

Looks like I am going to learn about trimming trees the hard way...
