When I was a kid Thanksgiving time meant my favorite fruit was in season Chinese apple. I am sure it is not politically correct to call them by that name. The only pomegranate tree I ever seen was a ancient one, growing in my uncles in LA. I knew what it was because, no one bothered to pick the fruit and they dried on the tree. I have been noticing there are now more cold hardy variety of pomegranates, Brunt Ridge has one Punica Granatum hardy up to zone 6, but does say needs hot summer to ripen. Would like to try one, but if no chance of ripe fruit, will pass. Anyone in zone 6 or lower grow pomegranate and get ripe fruit?

I've learned that if you can't have a pomegranate tree, there is always craigslist! Found some 20 for $5. I normally buy 2 for this price at the store. Got me 40 of them! I usually eat one a day. Did I forget to mention I love pomegranates?

Store bought have always been delicious for me. Avocadoes are horrible. They are not ripping correctly.

I've noticed the same thing with avos Mary. I wonder what's going on?
They will soften on a portion and the rest of it will be like wood.
I thought maybe they were being picked too early.

My avocadoes turn black inside. A small portion is edible.

I get all the seeds out at once and put in bowl. Grab spoon and eat till they're all gone. :D

I place a paper towel underneath when I'm cutting it. Sometimes I put one on top of my knife to catch any squirts.

I'm going to see if you can freeze the seeds once you get them out.
