I went to a meeting on Autism this week. The new numbers are out and it is again worse then it has been. It is casued by many factors, genetic isn't one of them. It is environmental. It is related to they immune system and many people are still pointing at vacines. I think this is wrong. They have been vacinating children for decades and they have removed the controversal ingredient and it is still increasing. It is attributed to inflamation in their gut. I think they should look at what they are eating instead of the shots. Perhaps the combination is also a factor, I don't know.

GMO should be looked at as a possible cause. When did GMO come into production and when did autism in children go crazy. So many of the diseases that adults have can be trace to inflamation in the body. Arthitis, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. Inflamation is caused by an something irritating that area. Again it could be the GMO foods that we eat.

There is a lot of blame put on corn syrup as an addictive to our food. I agree, because the GMO corn is being used. I wished our lawmakers would get their head out of the lower orifice and take a look at what the GMO business is doing to America.

It would be interesting to see the incidence of autism in kids who are fed a WAP diet, from prenatal on. There are so many unnatural additives in our food these days--even people who think they are feeding their kids a good diet are feeding them very few real foods.
By the way, tonight's 60 Minutes has a big piece about sugar being a poison. I'm gonna watch it for sure.

Work in school system for 22 years. I have seen an alarming rise in Autism and other disorders. i.e. Also have family members and friends with children affected by Autism.

The difference between the 3 or 4 vaccines that we received and the dozen or more at a time that kids receive now is alarming. This starts in the hospital at birth and never seems to end. I know several families personally that claim they started with a normal 3 year old and ended up with an autistic child with days of vaccines. When money is a motivator the truth is hard to find. We also had a cluster of autistic children one year in the town where I teach. From one child once in a while to more than a dozen in one year. Even the specialists were talking bad vaccine.

Our food additives are outrageous. Even those of us trying to eat organically would be shocked at what is in our food and the acceptable limits. Who knew about the pink slime?

We're going to wipe out our own species. Why? Money, greed and politics. There is no stopping it now the snowball is rolling down the mountain.

(I started a fb fast last night... I'm already jonesing... LOL)

My nephew was diagnosed with autism just about a month ago. He was always just a little bit different than the other kids, but, he's a sweet kid. He failed 1st grade and my sister was really concerned. She asked for testing at the school and they said that he was in speech therapy and it was helping. So, she took him herself to a facility and had him tested and it came back that he is autistic. My nephew told her that he was stupid and that he wanted to kill himself because he wasn't smart like the other kids in his class. :( Now the school is kissing her butt because she had asked them to do testing. The one lady told her "if there's anything we can do to help.." and my sister butt in and said "There absolutely is! When a parent comes to you concerned at the beginning of the year, don't ignore them like you ignored me." She was so angry! We had our son tested as well, not for Autism, but for whatever, and we get the results back on the 4th. We know that he has ADHD and his old school tested him and said that he's dyslexic, but the schools here won't treat him for it because they don't have "proof." We've been told by the school's Specials teachers that the only way to help him with dyslexia is to just read to him more. When I told his Dr that she was really upset and said that it is NOT how you treat dyslexia, and that when all the results came back that we would have a better understanding and would be able to formulate a plan for treatment for him. I know my son is smart. He would make an AWESOME mechanic or something of the like. When he was 6 he tore apart a lawn mower and fixed it by himself and it still works!!
