Seedcorn, I still think that if you drug him off to the tub and dunked him every time he starts that, ..

. he'd soon quit pestering you for a scratch.

Short of that, strapping a currycomb to a palm sander might work. You could try both ... speed up drying time! I'd recommend that cordless one from Sears. Battery should be safer for a wet dog ... Just remember, yer the boss.

Steve
Edited to Say: This would probably also work for your cat.

He likes attention. So giving him a bath everytime, all I would get done until he was raw...... Seen him with raw before-food allergies to nuts and chicken by products in feed we used to buy. Now we r very selective in what we buy. Name brand feed seems to be worse.

He likes his back scratched. So do I but DW is unwilling.....

Per "yer the boss", I'm married with children! Need I say more?

Seed, have you tried crawling between the couch and your wife? Try wagging and grinning, that should get you a good scratching, ....or something.
Probably 2 things-kicked in ribs and ride to funny house in rubber suit
