I have a gate! Since we built the new pig pen and Pig Palace, I have had a ladder to go over the fence to feed the pigs. That. Got. Old.
My husband and our neighbor put a gate in for me so now I can just walk through to get to the pig pen! Whoop! That sure has made it a LOT easier for me!

VERY GOOD that hubby and your neighbor helper put the top hinge for the gate UPSIDE DOWN to prevent a pig lifting the gate off it's hinges and so be able to go visit the feral cousins.I have a gate! Did they also put a bolt or screw through the handle hinge and through the gate frame so that it would not turn if a pig should use the gate as a scratching post and the handle would not turn ?

That gate does not open into the pig pen. I purposely double fenced the pen so that the property line fence was NOT part of the pig pen. Same thing with the yard and garden fence. The pig pen fence is all it's own, not up against any other fence.
Before the gate, I had to climb over the yard fence on the ladder to get to the pig pen. I have the Pig Palace set up so that I don't have to enter the pig pen to feed and water.

All our gates are set with one hook up and the top side hook is pointed down.

I can not believe you had to clime a fence. I have been thinking of taking out bathtub and just have shower stall. I dont like stepping up over wet tub getting out, worried about a fall

No, found them at a side of the road flea market for $20. Got 3 of them, still have 2.
