Saw this beauty in between the garden and the garage. It's a racer that is fairly new to this county. We estimated the length at just over 3'. It's interesting how calm larger snakes can be, it gave us plenty of time to observe it. What a treat!:)

Ya...OK, if you say so! I don't think I would have the same reaction as you. But I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
I know that many people don't share our enthusiasm and I respect that. Now Miller Moths, they're just creepy!:hide

They will eat eggs and baby chicks. But as long as I don't find them in the coop I leave them alone. My chicken feed is drawing rodents and the rodents draw snakes. They do eat a lot of rodents.

Haha... I expected to find a photo of a dead one! :)
He is a pretty color! But ooooooh, they give me the willies!
Especially since we had so MANY of them this year. ACK!!

I think snakes are one of the most beautiful creatures in nature but I seem to be in a minority with that opinion. BTW I also like skunks.

I do not mind the occasional snake. As long as they do not SURPRISE me! They are fascinating.
I always thought I would like a pet skunk. Very pretty animals. Sweet natured.
