Butterfly weed?

I have started so many seeds of butterfly weed and none have made it, but I had some in the winter sowing in a milk jug and just tossed it on the compost bin because it did not look like they made it.

I finally got some to grow last year. They are in bloom now. Love them.

Does mine look like butterfly weed? Is it hard to grow?

Looks like a common weed to me.

The way the slender leaves alternate, it looks like it might be ... Kind of hard to make out the details w/ the focus. Maybe let it go a little longer and see what kind of bloom it develops.

I have looked everywhere to see if I can find any other ones and I have never seen it and it does not seem like a weed to me since there are only 2. I have 3 things I am waiting on to see. These 2 to see if they are butterfly weed, the Canterbury bells and my raspberry plants from last year to see if they are yellow. Oh, and my rose to see if it is blue when it opens. I am wondering now if my DD has been pulling my butterfly weed thinking they are weeds.
