interesting map Steve. It says 6 inches for our part of IA. But we usually go with 6 inches. A foot, depends on the county road crew. Sometimes only a late start to let crews get roads open. 15 to 18 Yes.

My town is in school today. at 6 this morning it was raining and I noticed a few giant blobs of snow mixed in. By 9 we had 6 inches.Now it supposed to snow until 10 tonight. Forecasters did not predict this last night. We are on a definite snow line. 20 minutes down the road my old school is home today. I think their new superintendent is a wimp. But seriously it seems my school made the right choice. The kids here will be coming home in a mess. I guess they may send them home early.

DD is outside of Little Rock. They have cancelled school 4 times so far, and today is one of them. But its not snow there - its ice.

Too bad the Grands won't be able make up the lost school days as they're coming to Grammy's on May 31st, come he!! or highwater....

Schools here have closed with reports of snow coming. Was never that way when I went to school took a 2 day blizzard to close. I think its because parents sue so easy now a days, kid slips in snow and its the school fault for being open.

Under the snow the highways in Virginia are extremely slick from the rain, freezing rain, and sleet. Today is a good day to sit at home and . . . telework.
