New posts are the ones you have not read. Recent posts are the latest whether you have read them or not. The ones you have not read are darker than the ones you have,

Recent posts is how I search for an active thread that I want to add to, such as the Garden Humor or Bean thread.

I glance at the new posts first, and then specifically check my favorite sections. These are usually the fruit and veggie section, the harvest, and sometimes random ramblings or animals.

To be honest, I've often thought a section specifically for our personal gardening threads is a good idea. It seems to drift between one category and another, and I'd love to check up on other people's gardens more efficiently.

oh yes the forum would be so much easier to follow if there was a few more subject boards or sub boards.....will say have seen other gardening forums some are guess the best way to say it ...too easily distracted from all the subject boards and we don't want to become like them.

would love to tweak this forum just a little if given permission..

I check Alerts, go to them. The click on new posts. That's about it.

If I want to start a new thread, I find the category and start there.

Hey all, I'm revisiting this thread to see if there are suggestions for splitting things up?

Usually we only split sections if there are already a lot of topics that can clearly be put into the new sections.
