Clematis Blooming in December!

This fall I moved a potted Clematis to it's hopefully permanent home in the yard. Now it is blooming!!! Silly plant! We are to have a hard freeze tonight. Just got done covering the plants that won't like temps in the high 20's.

I have a stray flower now and then- even after the leaves are dead. One of my absolute favorite plants! Lovely blossom, rebbetzin!

@Nyboy I have bought them from all different places. From big box stores, online catalogs, local nursery. I just can not grow them! (or roses!) Even tried moving some of MIL's well established and abundant plants. I followed all the advice. Hot tops, cool feet, etc...

Nice! What is the name of this clematis?

I bought the plant at Trader Joe's.... it didn't have the name of the variety on it. Last summer it put out dark purple flowers.
