Thanks very much. I am just building mine in a couple of weekends and am reading everything I can.

You sure can. We do. Also tea bags. They breakdown with no problem.
If you throw the tea bag in make sure they don't have metal staples in them...my boyfriend and I have been composting for some time and didn't even think of this until we were spreading the compost and kept seeing staples in the soil...doh!

I'm convinced I have so many coffee ground in my compost my Tomatoes are going to contain caffeine!

Good point on the metal staples. Good thing we don't use tea bags with them anyway, they tend to change the flavor of the tea.

Tomatoes with caffeine, that would be convenient. :p

I have heard that if you use a large amount of coffee and tea bags you may want to add some (I don't know how much) garden lime to your pile. It will help balance the acidity.
