Now THAT'S good eatin'.
Coleslaw. I am making some this morning...to go with WV slaw dogs on the menu tonight.
I never made it much...as I had only saw it made with the hand grater. I didn't care for grating my knuckles..so I just didn't make it very often.
MIL...she uses her food processor. Doh. I never thought of that. And, she uses that shelf brand T Marzetti slaw sauce. I had always whipped it up from scratch.
So's....now days....I use the food processor. We have slaw dogs 2 or 3 times a month. DH is from WV/OH, so it is a necessity for him.
I have started adding a grated carrot to the slaw mix too now. I noticed it add to the flavor, and mellows the cole twang a bit. I also salt and pepper the finished batch. Oh, I have seen MIL add a tsp of sugar to the freshly grated cabbage too. I thought it was too much sugar...but it really helps.
So...what other good ways and recipes are there for coleslaw?
