Crazy weird ice cream

I think I'm going to give it a try
Got a free Sunday afternoon coming up (no more pickles!! NO MORE PICKLES!!!) And what better way to spend it than making lots of little batches of 'weird' ice cream.
At least I won't have to share it with anyone.

You are going to have to be careful what you put in your ice cream, and when you add it. Ice cream and water does not go well together. Good luck!

Reminds me of the time I stopped at an ice cream shop for ice cream. I see the list of fountain drinks behind the cashiers shoulder and I change my mind about ice cream sundae and I want instead a Boston Cooler. For those of you not familiar with a Boston cooler its float but instead of a root beer float its a Vernors float. Vernors is a ginger drink. Technically its ginger ale, with a real strong ginger flavor more like ginger beer than something like Canada Dry. I love the stuff.

So anyway I tell her what I want. She gives me the most peculiar look. I said I want a large Boston cooler. Then she makes a wicked face like someone just shoved a lemon in her mouth. I look at her and say "You know what it is right? A Vernors float with ice cream right?"

She kindly replies "Yep I'm familiar with them......and if that's what you want sure go ahead".

So she makes it up, takes my money, shakes her head and I walk away. At this point I'm thinking she's just having a bad day or something. So I pull back into traffic, come to a red light and take big long drink. doesn't even begin to show how nasty it tastes! Then I realize my mistake. The ice cream place I stopped at? It was a custard shop! Custard and carbonated ginger DO NOT MIX!

Luckily I was at a red light when I found out is all I can say.

I've heard that bacon ice cream is good....

The more I talk about this - the more inspired I get. Gonna have to gather up my makers' pieces parts tonight.
