Dandelions Over Orchid

About 2 years ago I sold a puppy to a very nice local family. Every time the dog comes in the youngest daughter draws a picture for me. This morning instead of a drawing ,she gave me a bouquet of dandelions. I always have a potted orchid on my desk. I got a vase for the dandelions, removed the orchid and put the dandelions in its place. The little girl was very happy her bouquet, got place of honor ! What child din't give their mother a dandelion bouquet ?

i remember picking a very expensive bouquet of lady slippers one year for my mother. my mom treated them like they were gold but warned me they were very rare and not to pick them again.

When I was newly pregnant with my second kid and I felt like my life was falling apart, my first kid, then age 9, went out and picked a bouquet of wild phlox for me (sweet Williams). His sincere effort to make me happy was something I still remember when ever I see sweet Williams bloom.
