as for me drying basil is very simple
just merely hang it in bundles
also turn it twice a day until completely dry
also I heard about special basil-drying screen.. but not sure how it works

I have them in a small terra cotta pot with a paper bowl on the bottom to collect the extra water (Still haven't invested in a proper saucer!) I chose both of them when they were little seedlings from the garden so I could have it through the winter, one seedling was from seeds from an organic New Hampshire grower, the other commercial seed packet. I also have a small hens & chicks in with them. I just sowed some parsley seeds in there, too. To water them, I use a spray bottle every or every other day to keep it moist. They're weaker than the ones in the garden, but it fills the house with the smell of fresh basil!!!
