Dumb Dumb Dumb!!!!

Last Sunday put a gutter on greenhouse and set up a 55 gallon water barrel. Monday in to Tue heavy rain. Was very happy thinking of all the water I was collecting. Last night I went to check barrel and it was empty. I couldn't understand why, not rocket science, down spout clear. Took me a while to figure out I left the hydrant, bibs, faucet OPEN all water just drained out.

That cleaning test is important. There are some water collection units that allow the first water to bypass the barrel so all the dirt is washed away rather than collected. Good idea, Nyboy!
