Earthworm castings...

So I'm trying to educate myself on these things because I read that they're good for a garden.

Well, after researching pictures, it seems that I do indeed have earthworm castings in my yard.

Here's my question though... how on earth is one supposed to "collect" these castings for a garden? It's pretty much just dirt. On top of dirt.

Am I missing something here?

They are collected when you have a bin for them to live in.

Okay... added to the list of things I didn't want before I started coming here but do now:

Earthworm bed

I'll put it next to the compost bin, chicken coop and greenhouse.
