Emoji problems

I'm testing this image on a desktop computer / chrome. I'm inserting a thumbnail and resizing it to be tiny:




You should be able to do the same if you click on an image and then drag the corners:

When posting photos, the thumbnail versions are now much larger - only 2 can fit side-by-side. Is this change intentional? Or is there a way for us to re-size thumbnails? I'm not complaining, mind you; I do like the appearance.

One thing I like to do is insert the thumbnails in a table.

I have experienced the issue with the emoji not staying where I place it. This is most common if I go back and try to insert it into the middle of a paragraph. Using a laptop, Windows 8.1 and Firefox.
