Excitement in Cluckville

Went out to feed and water Babygirl's chickens, this morning and Big Mamma was setting in one (duh....how could she be in two?) of the nest boxes. I called Amy who was, almost, as excited as me. I hung out on the patio and about 10 minutes later, Big Mamma went to cackling (the egg song) and ran out of the coup. Went out and retrieved our FIRST egg.

Congradulations Boggybranch and Babygirl! It is always so exciting to see those eggs. It never gets old. Everyday, I am as excited as the kids. They all want to touch them and feel how warm they are.

Super! That egg song cracks me up- I have a couple who strut around like queens, cackling away. Okay, I love eggs- but come on, chickens lay eggs!!! They always act they invented egg laying! Enjoy breakfast!
