This plant came to us in a funeral arrangement and we would like to try to root it. Since it came from a florist it could be from anywhere *sigh* Any ideas?

My first guess was cherry. Doesn't look like my plum tree. But what do I know, I'm just being persuaded by Thistle!

We have lots of cherry trees, wild, domestic and the DW has an ornamental flowering cherry. The wood in the pic does resemble cherry, and even the leaves, but those blooms are huge! They definately don't look like any cherry blossom I have seen. Maybe it is another ornamental variety?

If you google an image for Kwanzan cherries, it's practically a dead ringer.
