I can't tell you how many free upright pianos I've seen given away over the years. My mom had one and had to leave it when she moved as there was no one who could move that sucker it was so heavy.

Mine's still got the harp in it, so it's mostly just an "art" piece. No room inside for storeing things - and no way I'm going to get all it's innards out on my own. But that bar set-up is exactly what I had in mind when I was thinking about using it to store jars of canned veggies.
