This one looks very bad, purple and scalely and it came up very quickly. She's already had two surgeries to remove a few other spots. She handled it very well, but I wonder if it would do any good to have this one removed. It's a Dermal Hemangiosarcoma and they are very aggressive. At this point the outlook is not so good. I don't know what I'll do without my furry buddy. She's the best dog I've ever had. :'(

I had just brought home two kittens yesterday that I adopted from the vet's office. I hope they don't stress her out too much. At 11 years old, she's calmed down so much, not much phases her anymore. The only thing that gets her worked up is the UPS truck. Ha.

Here's Savannah disturbing Boogie's nap in the afternoon sunbeams, getting herself stuck trying to crawl through the kitchen table chairs. The look the dog gave me cracked me up, like can't you do anything with this kid?

Oh, so sorry to hear that bad news... He looks like such a sweetie (and I love the pic of your daughter!) Nothing easy about losing our old furry friends.

If she is feeling OK i would get it removed. As long as it does not put you in the poor house. Vets around here are almost unaffordable for simple things. I would be afraid of an oozing cancer around the family. So sorry. Dogs are so hard to lose.

She will probably show the same tolerance to the kittens that she does the baby. "The boss made the decision."

I wish I had a dog again. Having DD's Bonzo around about 1 day a week amounts to something but it has been a long time since I had a canine "member of the household."

It was difficult to watch them age and come to the end of life. Two, I didn't have to. My border collie was such a kid's dog that when I was no longer a kid - she adopted the kindergartener who lived nearby :). I had 2 dogs when a wind storm blew the back fence down and one of them "blew away!" It was about 10 years later that I saw her about a 1/2 mile away from her old home, keeping an eye on a bunch of kids as they played.

Others I watched weaken to diabetes and seizures. Nature provided them with a much shorter life than what has been granted me.

You might try to look around for a homeopathic healer for a bloodroot based black salve. I have used the salve myself, my DH has too to remove skin cancers. It kills the cancer, draws up the roots and after several days, it falls out. The healers generally lay low as the Feds don't like their brand of medicine. The old man we go to is down a dead end dirt road and does not charge, but you can "donate" money to him, wink, wink.

Journey, as long as she doesn't know she is sick - don't tell her. That was my vet's advise when my husky/rottie's lymphoma came back. We went through the whole chemo thing (not nearly as rough on a dog as a human) and he went into remission. They told us he would be doing good to get a year. Well it was a little over 2 years when we started to notice lymphnodes swelling again. He went another year with no symptoms (other than the lumps) before he started showing signs of feeling bad.
There's no telling how it may progress. Just enjoy her and she will enjoy the rest of her time (hopefully a lot of it).
