We live about 30 miles from Poverty Point (as the crow flies, lol) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_Point

I know what I'll be doing next fall, completley digging up that area of the garden, lol.

My BIL,lives next door & has found several on his waterfront. He's so lucky, this is my first find.

Oh how neat! Hubby is a BIG arrowhead nut so if I ever find one in my garden, I'll just keep my mouth shut.

Cool! I bet you'll find more along the way.

I found a broken pink one under an ugly old bush I dug out last summer. Kinda like my reward for finally disposing of it...ha.

Indians around my area used few arrow points. They had no large game to hunt so it was mainly throwing sticks for hunting rabbits. I did find a small hand grinstone for grinding seed once though.

I'm excited, going to try to get in touch with someone at Poverty Point.
I don't know a thing about them, would love to learn some more.

Nice ink there,Boggy.

Hope I do come across more, I had just happened to dig down in the clay & found that one. who know what else is out there.

Oh wow, what a cool find! I never find nothin' that cool in the dirt... just rocks and worms... :smack
