Garden humor thread..

@baymule So mesquite trees lose their leaves in the fall. I wasn't sure about that. Do they turn a pretty color first?
Don't have any around here. They are in south Texas. I live in the pine/oak woods of northeast Texas. I have seen mesquite growing, but don't know if they give fall color or not. You and I probably share a lot of the same forest trees.

I've seen the artificial trees up for a while in stores like Home Depot. Today I spotted the first load of real Christmas trees and boughs. How can they possibly be green by the time the season arrives?

They are painted with green paint to hold the needles. My Daddy raised Christmas trees. One year he had paint leftover, so he sprayed the front yard. It was so pretty and green!

A new supermarket opened near my house.

It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and smell the scent of fresh rain.

When you approach the milk cases, you hear cown mooing and experience the scent of fresh hay.

When you near the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.

The veggie department features the smell of fresh butter corn.

I don't buy toilet paper there any more.
