Just in time for DD's wedding, the glads began to bloom!

This was the very 1st one and, fortunately, about 8 bloomed later during the week:

Oh congratulations to you and your family on the newly wedded couple! :bouquet
That glad is a gorgeous color. Did you provide flowers for the wedding?

Thanks Thistle' and Yes!

But, DD and her friends put the flower arrangements together on their own.

(I think the guy they drafted to help did most of the work ;).)

That's the neatest thing! What a great contribution to such a happy day! I think you should provide us with some pictures, at least of the arrangements (I know your family probably wants their privacy ). :)

Now, keep in mind it was the untutored who put together two colors of snapdragons in many vases and the few gladiolas in one vase. I have a snapshot of 300#, 6'5" Brian in the middle of buckets, flowers and scattered stems . . . The flower girl preceded us with snapdragon blooms. (Uh oh, I don't know the symbolism in that!)

DD did the bride's and bridesmaids' bouquets - dahlias, zinnias, asters & roses.

I will check to find out if there were pictures of those.

Congrats on you Daughter's wedding. May they enjoy years of wedded bliss. :bouquet
I envy you the glads. I always forget to dig them ( they will not winter over here.) Or forget to stake them up and they fall over.

The staking with 1 by 2's and baling twine in my cutting garden isn't the least attractive .

For her birthday this year, I bought DW peony rings for the front yard.

She had resisted the boards & baling twine out there for just too long!

Steve ;)

:gig I really need some way to hold up lots of stuff. Peonies, sunflowers, even the hysop fell over . So far it is post and twine. Got some nice store bought rings on the wish list. ;)

Love the color of your Gladiola, Digit. They are surely a pretty flower. I did plant some this spring,,,,,, again after I promised myself I would never plant them again. Planted them 2 years in a row and each time they were befallen by "Thrips", they eat tiny little holes into the sword like leaves of the Glads and the flower finally shrivels up. Sad. Will see what this year will bring.
