Good Blackberry Year

There probably is but I just strain them for the juice so bits don't slip through. Sometimes I use a jelly bag, sometimes several layers of cheesecloth.

Isn't there some kind of strainer that would remove stems ?
Hand cranked Foley food mill. They still make them or you can find them at yard sales and second hand shops. They are also great for separating the seed when you are making tomato sauce.

@Beekissed I see that the blackberries bushes at the lot are loaded. I will have to send Husband, son and grands out to pick when they are ripe. They are surrounded by poison ivy. I can not get near them. :(

Ah-ha I have one! But think the holes might be large enough for mulberry stems to push through, (Some of them anyway.) I have only had mulberries from wild trees. Flavorless. I will use the food mill for the wild black berries. If I do not get all the seeds (or most of them out ) the jam can be pretty CRUNCHY!
Personally I like my blackberry jam with the seeds left in. The taste is stronger with the seeds. They do get under false teeth though.

The seeds are also a problem for people with Diverticulosis, which is another problem my wife has. No seeds allowed in blackberries or any tomato product. I use a Squeezo strainer for some stuff and just drain other things through jelly bags or cheesecloth to separate other things. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Bummer. Same for strawberries, too. You are so sweet to go that extra step to make it so DW can enjoy too.

Our Blackberries are loaded! Even the ones in the fencerow, and usually they don't produce much or the critters get them first. The Mulberries are heavy, too. Just wild ones. Like Carol Dee said; flavorless.
The raccoons sure like them, tho, if the frequency and size of the "purple poop" is any indication:eek:
