I must be doing something wrong. My broccoli plants are growing like mad but I was wondering when the broccoli clumps, the part you eat, will take shape? Should I have been doing something to the plants as they grow to make them produce? I hope this is not a dumb question and I really appreciate any answers. Thanks

The plants will actually get fairly large before they start to produce any types of a head at all. It sounds like you are doing what you need to wait a little longer. Keep an eye on them though because when they make a head it will be there are then flowered in no time.

Grow 4 Food has it right, they usually get pretty big before the heads start to form.

What zone are you in? Make sure it doesn't get too hot and if it does then shade them to help keep them cool so they don't bolt (go to seed).
