She is giving away apple butter and blueberry jam! Isn't that cool? This is her first attempt at canning anything and I can't be happier! I hope that in some way, this homemade item will appeal to some at her wedding and nudge them towards a healthier, home grown life.

What a great idea! Useful, tasty and unique! Is she going to add ribbon or decoration- or go plain? My sister-in-law gave flower bulbs with a note about "love growing". It was a fun gardening idea.

That is neat. I hope she finds those tiny jars that are in gift baskets. Otherwise, she will be making alot of jam and apple butter.

That is so sweet! (no pun intended) Sadly, most young women these days aren't into such homemaking skills.
People always appreciate things that are from our hearts and hands.

Lesa, I love the bulb idea. That is super cute! Mary, she is doing the smaller 1/2 pint jars for the blueberry jam and pints for the apple butter. She's got one more batch of jam to do, 2nd batch of apple butter is almost done and then she will have to do a third. Her colors are pale blue and brown, so her favors will match nicely. She has taken some paper bag colored labels that are round and printed her and her husbands name on the top with the date. She is taking some plaid fabric to put in the center of the table under the centerpieces of mason jars filled with water, with an evergreen sprig and a few blueberries, with a floating candle in each. 3 size jars on each table setting on a round slab of wood with the bark still on. It should look really pretty. rebbetzin, I am super pleased that both she and her husband to be are country kids and not only enjoy these kinds of things but hopefully will continue to love a country life and share that with their children some day! Thanks for all the compliments. I'll have to get some pictures of the whole table set up when the time comes. (Feb 11th) :)

I love this idea! It fits with what I'm hoping for when I (eventually?) get married. Nice reception outside with lots of natural stuff. Definitely mason jar tea light lanterns.

I was on a road trip and I tried a blueberry lavender jam on the side of the road. I didn't realize how good blueberry jam was until I tried that.

Is she doing one of each or are the guests choosing one?
