Thats such a nice idea! Plus, think of all the people she will get to influence to think about the idea of growing and perserving food!

I love this idea! It fits with what I'm hoping for when I (eventually?) get married. Nice reception outside with lots of natural stuff. Definitely mason jar tea light lanterns.

I was on a road trip and I tried a blueberry lavender jam on the side of the road. I didn't realize how good blueberry jam was until I tried that.Is she doing one of each or are the guests choosing one?
1iora, She is doing every other seat. So one jam, next seat apple butter, etc. (We are in apple and wild blueberry country so it is local fresh and yummy.) Our good friends are super excited because they have 6 in their family!! She has also got some old milk bottles and will be lining her aisle on both sides with them with flowers/evergreens in them. We haven't made a mock one yet, so I'm not sure what we are going to come up with, but I'm sure it will be uniquely beautiful.

Ally, I hope you are right! There actually will be several young couples who are currently engaged themselves. It is my hearts desire that things like canning, baking, farming, and hand crafts regain popularity. My 6 1/2 year old grandaughter said to me the other day about a large stained glass piece that my father had made, "oooo.... it's hand crafted?" :) I don't know where she came up with that, but she obviously is learning that "hand crafted" is something special and it made me feel good.

Finally....2 months later, I have some pictures to share! I didn't get any of the candles floating in the mason jars, but you get the point. It was all very lovely. Hope you enjoy!
