Decorations and, dare I say, trappings ..

. are there more or less of them in your neighborhoods?

After a big buildup thru the 90's, there seemed to be a good deal less of them about 10 - 12 years ago.

@Nyboy would probably be the one to assess the future trend .

Steve Zombies all the rage here, almost every block has a dummy in front yard. In the next town Harrison the town closes down roads to cars, police everywhere. It is a safe zone for children trick or treating. Parent bring their kids from all over.

Less here. And in the neighborhood. Most people are not decorating. Those that do go all out. The rest MIGHT have a jack-0-lantern.

Have seen next to nothing in my neighborhood. Most of the folks near me would be more likely to celebrate Day of the Dead or All Saints Day, not Halloween. Now Christmas is something almost everyone decorates for.

In our small town in SW Wash. ... all of the businesses are open to all kids for trick or treats from after school 3 - 5. Afterwards, the kids can go home for dinner followed by the local witches and goblins invading the neighbohoods for more candy treats.

Yes, digitS', that's scary the way that ghost has its shoe laces untied. Scary and dangerous.

On the other hand, I've seen more and more halloween decorations this year than the last and more the last than the year before that. It seems everyone has at least pumpkins in the yard and an ever growing number have inflatable monsters and scary archways. Lots of original looking effects as well.

What I notice here is lights being used for holidays other then Christmas. Right now orange and black.

Happy Holloween everyone !!! Yesterday the heavy rains started about 3:30 pm... a little rain didn't dampen the local kidos in their quest to scare the populace into contributing to their sugar high addictions. Started by our neighborhood boys showing up in rain coats and umbrellas to raid at 5:00 PM SHARP dressed as fireman, zomby, policeman, and bulldoze driver. Followed by over 200 of assorted boys as zombies, football players, firemen, astronauts, etc.. Most of the girls ( like 75%) were princeses and witches followed by show girls and zombies or skeletons. All very VERY POLITE and thanked us for the candy and/or said Happy Holloween or have a good day / night .
