It's an association.

Apparently, they have had problems with the roots reaching under the homes. So they have banned trees in our area.

My parents live in a strict association where they aren't aloud to plant anything outside and they also cant hang things like beautiful wind chimes in their porch!

This controlling over people's lives and homes is getting way over the top.
What on earth has happened to make these generations so greedy and narcissistic.

when you join a HOA that is what you get and are signing up for, if you don't want to be in one don't join it - very simple. it is actually a freedom to make that choice or not.

we could not have the home we'd like being in a HOA so we're not a part of that here where we are out in the country.

I was not told this when i rented this property.

As for this HOAs and their rules. People that need a home, say that it is the only chance of getting one. IMHO. It's still controlling.
