Help save the rose!

yes, i would just sprinkle it around the base of my roses in California. Here though, I think the method you described will work better for me, as we have little rain and I am using just a drip system. thanks for the tip!

OK, so the rose rescue is underway. I gave a little more info on what I've done since I moved it. It's potted up for now.

Well sadly the husband who went TILLER crazy hasn't done another thing to that bed when I wanted to move the rose too. I really don't have any room anywhere else for it. Plus starting last night we have straight back to back storms until Sunday. BLAH! This was probably my last chance to get it so I just have to cross my fingers it will be ok until I can get it in the ground and baby it. I can always leave it potted until next year, and transplant it to the ground when it dormant next February.

I think it will be fine V. You won't have to wait a season to put it in the ground. Just pot it up for now and plant it when your bed's ready.
At my old garden I moved my roses so many times they would just sigh and pack their bags when they saw me coming with the shovel.

I think the only possible setback may be with it blooming this year. Roses are tough!

Good! I'm not worried about blooming now, I was just trying to save it from not being able to for years as it is. :) Once I have it healthy then I'll enjoy the rewards it gives me for saving it from the mower.

I transplanted her and she's doing AMAZING!!!!

Awesome, I can't grow a rose to save my soul, have killed everyone I've ever attempted, and since they aren't my favorite flower I don't even try anymore.
