Hurricane preparation ;
Bake Brownies. You'll need them later for stress management.
Wine. See above reason.
Draw up water in every available container. Put 5 gallon buckets of water with coffee can scoops in bathroom for flushing toilets.

First aid kit and make sure to refill prescriptions. After a hurricane hit, it could take weeks to resume services.
Bring pets inside or secure them in a safe place. For my horses, I left barn open, giving them choice of where they felt safest. Barn, forest or open pasture. They spent most of the storm in open pasture, rest in barn.
Bread. If shelves wiped out, bake your own and have sandwich makings.
Candles and kerosene lanterns. Flashlights, extra batteries. A weather radio is nice to have.
Have a text buddy outside of storm area so forum members know you are safe. Phones often won't call out, but text will still work. Have cell phone charged.
Fill gas tanks.
Generators aren't much good. They take gas, in power outages the gas stations won't be able to pump gas.
BBQ pit, charcoal and starter fluid. Cook thawing meat.
