Passionflowers or Maypops are wildflowers here. I haven’t seen a wild one in a long time. So I was delighted to find one at a nursery plant half off sale. It is not the purple like the wild varieties, it is burgundy. Now I just have to figure out where to put it. LOL

Yes, they produce a fruit, a green lemon shaped fruit of gelatinous clear stuff. Never ate one, but wildlife like them. Supposedly you can make a good jelly from the Maypops. The leaves can be made into a tea that is sedative.

There is a purple one in a lady's yard not far from here. I am going to inquire about a cutting.
