Got 7 quarts of tomatoes and 3 pints of strawberry jelly. My first time canning, it went really well, only one jar of tomatoes didnt seal. Big plans for canning the rest of the tomatoes when they ripen as well as pickling carrots, and canning pumpkin and acorn squash. I'm so excited!

Good for you!! It was my first year, too. I admit I was scared at first, but now I love it! I feel like a squirrel, stocking up for winter!! Nothing is as cool, as growing and storing your own garden veggies!! Enjoy!

We unfortunately do not have storage properly set up (no shelves in the basement and a crappy pantry) so I am not going to "Sqirreling" away much but its still nice to know how to preserve some of summer's goodness for my family!

stick the jars in cases under the bed :) I have done that!

unless your floor is too warm

just never put wine you have bottled with out stopping the fermentation under your bed ..trust me on this

congratulations you have worked so hard and look isnt it wonderful that it does not end in the garden you bring it to your table and those flavors your kids will never forget

awesome job!!!!

I can't even do greenbeans without a pressure canner. :(

I don't eat meat other then fish or chicken so I don't know about canning meats.
