I have a good sized roll of twine. those softball sized rolls run out too fast, so this is the next size up.
for the initial restitching i tie the pieces together where it broke this winter. one problem with that is lining them up, elsewise it bunches up one of them on one side, the other on the other end. plus that makes it tighter.
it's not really sewing. I cut a bunch of pieces of twine a foot long or so, and stuff them in my pocket. i overlap the netting a couple inches, hold in place with one hand, grab a piece and push it through, out, and back in, using a fingertip, then pull the ends together and do a regular square knot, except the first tie through of the knot is brought through twice. that gives more holding tension for the twine to stay tight while i do the regular single through for the second part of the square knot.
theoretically it sounds easy. and it was not too bad except tedious when the netting was new. but, different parts of the netting have stretched more, and some parts less. add to that, there is no pre stitching for some of the high parts. i have to do it 10 foot up, arms up, 3rd from highest step on the ladder, and my beds are in place, ie, uneven and soft, the east end angled down outward.
something is wrong with me the unit too, im not a hundred percent. that bubonic flu whacked me hard.
i just got to buck up to it!!! and do it!!!
