You know, I think you're right. This leaf IS small compared to the others I found but this one still had the ball thing attached.

Ridgerunner is right it is a Sycamore.

Again I agree the leaf is small for that tree. They are in the same family as Maple, there leaves get huge and look just like a Maple.
The wood is great for cooking, not sweet like maple but much better smell then just all oak!

That ball contains about 2,234 seeds give or take a few. Go ahead and count, or you can just trust me!

They grow very fast!

Yep, sycamore...they're everywhere around here. Messy trees, but they have beautiful white bark.

Sycamore.
The bark of the tree comes off in irregular layers as the tree's defense against climbing vines like poison ivy or English ivy.
