I think something is eating my plants~

ok so I am an ameatur (sp) gardener. I think something is eating my plants! It seems to mostly be the basil plant and the jalapeno plants. It's like they are chewing out a perfectly round circle. I want to get a pic to show ya'll...whatever it is, it isn't affecting the flowers. Oh and can I use DE if it is a bug or something? That is if I can find DE

P.S. I know...I know....better stick to my chickens LOL

Perhaps slugs? They chew on stuff all night long and then crawl under a rock or something during the day.

Go out in the early morning or late evening with a flashlight to see them.

You can put out a flat pan of beer to trap some, or use Sluggo around the base of your plants, or pick them off and drown them in soapy water.
