get that cat food and put it somewhere the raccoon can't get it! they are attracted to it! you shouldn't be feeding the pets outside since it also attracts the pests too!

i am sorry for your loss. try and get all those holes patched up so your chickies can feel safe once more.
 
My grandma got skunked by feeding the cats outside a couple years ago. In the near dark she reached down to pet what she thought was one of her black cats and ------pssssst! :P

That's a very old coon. No wonder she was going after easy prey like chickens. She probably couldn't hunt well any more in the wild.

Interesting, how can you tell her age?

Also I'm wonder if she had experience with traps. She was reaching through to get food and dragging the closed trap around. To catch her I had to put those bricks on top and block off the sides.
