I was just taking photos one day, and noticed these lil' yellow flowers, and snapped a photo, thinking they were some kind of wild flower when I saw some photos of St. John's Wort flowers and realized it looks similar.

It just volunteered. I don't even have any St. John's Wort seeds. Maybe I should go see if I can find the plant again, and see if it made any seeds, and try to plant them deliberately.

I love those plants. Mine are small bushes, but they do grow as a ground cover in some places. They are literal bee magnets. I have counted so many different sizes and colors of bees and bee-like fliers swarming around the plants.

Unfortunately, the Japanese Beetles love them as well. I spend a lot of time removing the JBs while the bees ignore my hand and bucket.

Are yours small shrubs just getting started or more of the ground cover variety?
