Do you mean 8 to 9 inches? Are they small ones, perhaps? what variety? I would think if they go ahead and ripen, small or not, they may taste just as good.

An ad on Amazon says they top out at about 10" in diameter. They are sold as an "ice box" watermelon, meaning they are small enough to fit in your fridge. Sounds like yours are doing fine, to me.
PS, you can ship all the ones you don't want to me. :D
