Japanese Honeybees (Awesome Videos!)

I was reading a beek blog this morning and came across some interesting things regarding Japanese honeybees and how very different they are from our European/Western honeybees, although they look very similar.

I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails and my jaw is on the floor--you gotta watch these videos of how Japanese honeybees defeat giant hornets, while our honeybees would be absolutely decimated. It's like a honeybee horror movie.

That was fascinating! It was like watching Braveheart, I was cheering the bees on. Do you know if it's possible to get japanese bees in the U.S.? Their docility when he was harvesting comb, yet their fierceness against the hornets was incredible! Thanks for sharing.

Awesome videos... would love to have Japanese bees, their temparment is amazing!

I really hate the wasps and hornets we have here though... they are terrible!!!!
