If you plant lavender with carrots & leeks they will do better. :D
Why don't you propagate some extra plants as gifts or to make a long lavender hedge!The bees would love it!

Here is how to take the cuttings. I do it like this except I don't bother with the hormone rooting powder or the plastic bag but most people find using them helps.

Hattie, I'll have to try that with my lavender plants. I rooted several cutting from my rosemay bush and plan to plant that around the new chicken coop I'm building - the chickens don't seem to like rosemary. :)

oh this is so wonderful to know I just stuck some lavender into my vegetable beds for asthetic reasons ..now to know it was for a good purpose is a wonderful thing :)

Yes, Hattie the Hen, thank you for a great idea!! I have lavendar spread all around this place but not in my veggie garden!!

Do you cut it back any time of the year?

Woohoo! I've got some started leeks and Lavender is my favorite....:D I 'm SO planting the leeks in the flower bed instead of the veggie garden when I plant the lavender that I want all along the edge of my walkway...

Companion planting rocks. :cool:
