The yearly gathering of Japanese Beetles has begun!!! So, as usual I am out there picking them and feeding them to the chickens- but then DH has a great idea. He gets the leaf blower, which also has a vacuum option. Oh yeah, say goodnight beetles! We used it on grape vines, virginia creeper, wisteria and crooked stick. It really works!! When we opened the bag, there was nothing but bits of dry beetles in there!!!! It did not hurt the plants a bit. The great thing is you can reach way over your head with it-which does not work too great with hand picking! Try it, you will like it!!

We did it again last night. This morning, I found about 10 out there!! It makes a huge difference, fast. I highly recommend it!

Great, now I need a leafblower. But, the girls really love their beetle treat every evening, too.

I know- when they see me with my little beetle container they start talking to me and begging for their snack!! Unfortunately, I have plenty to give them and still vacuum!
