Longevity of Scabiosa and Speedwell

It's been too long to remember a variety name.

Searching around the internet, it seems to be Veronica incana altho some of the pictures don't seem quite right. The ones here have narrow leaves.

Oh, I am so pleased! I am pretty sure I see signs of both speedwells popping up in my garden? How is it possible the pink could still be alive, when I didn't see it at all last summer? I don't think the purple could have spread that far, and it's two separate little clumps? Amazing!
